Bio

Selected in the 1st Round of the 2004 MLB Drafft by the Kansas City Royals, Billy Butler made his professional debut in Idaho Falls in 2004, the first year under the Chukar indentity. Butler hit .373 with 10 homers, 22 doubles, and 68 RBI with the Chukars. He made his major league debut with the Royals on May 1, 2007 and went on to play nine years in the major leagues with the Royals, Athletics, and Yankees. His best season was in 2012 where he won the American League Silver Slugger Award and was selected to the 2012 MLB All-Star Game. Butler also played for the United States national baseball team while he was in the minor leagues in 2006.

Butler currently resides in Idaho Falls, where he is the Chukars Hitting Coach and runs the Idaho Athlete Project, helping train younger athletes.
